Tuesday Tidbit

According to Metroparents Magazine:

$1 spent at a local store= 68 cents for the local economy
$1 spent at a national store= 43 cents for the local economy
$1 spent at an online store = 0 cents for the local economy (the exception is a website for a local business)

  1. Would it still be 0 if you shop local?

  2. I'm assuming they were talking about big websites like Amazon or something similar. That's why I included the exception, but I don't know how it changes the breakdown. It may be the same as shopping at a local shop or it might be slightly different based on the cost of running the site. If I find some more info, I will update.
